Battle of the Badges

The main events will feature U.S. Border Patrolman Lupe Valenzuela versus Bernardo “Tarzan” Marquez of Solo’s Fitness for the heavyweight championship belt. Luis Magaña of R&R Boxing will face Jake “The Snake” Denton of the U.S. Navy for the welterweight belt.

Also slated are two separate bouts between female competitors (Karla Castillo of Heber Boxing vs. Jasmin Medina of La Gente, Michelle Correa of Heber vs. Maria Castillo of La Gente) and tentatively, three youth matches.

Ninety percent of the funds raised will be directed toward La Gente and affiliated youth programs, which Cortez says is a key focus of the program.
